✧ ★ ⋆ A well balanced dancer ⋆ ★ ✧

Illustration created for the GB Pixel Art Jam 2025.

The theme was "balance", and it made me think of dancers! I really enjoy drawing dynamic silhouettes so I tried to make the figure as readable and as dynamic as I could using only 2 colors!

The pose is based on this photo reference by Narratography by APJ. For the clothing, I took inspiration from the dancer class of Fire Emblem Awakening and made changes to make it more readable at the GameBoy resolution! Now this image kinda look like a class upgrade screenshot of a hypothetical GameBoy Fire Emblem game haha!

Thank you to the organizers of the jam, it was the second year I participated and I had a ton of fun! I almost never work in 1-bit, so it was a good challenge and I'm really proud of what I was able to make!
I can't wait to see what others will have created :D

BA-LOWN! AWAY! this is a really great piece of art, and with only 111 tiles? I'm so impressed! I've got to get better!

Most of the tiles are used for the character, the background only uses about 10 tiles!

Thank you for your positive message! Progress comes with each new piece, so keep on creating! :D

Awesome! when can I find more of your work?

I don't post very often, but all my recent pixel art pieces are on my Lospec profile & on my Instagram profile if you want to check them out :)

I only draw pixel art when I feel very inspired or when events like this jam happens. I love jams because it's soooo much more interactive and fun to be posting along many other artists! I love getting to see all the different interpretations and styles!

Omg, so cute! I love how you used textures in the background!

Thanks! It took multiple attempts to get a background I was happy with but I think it was worth it!
